Licensed Clinical Psychologist & Psychotherapist
“The first gulp from the glass of natural sciences will turn you into an atheist, but at the bottom of the glass, God is waiting for you.”

University of Glasgow — Founded 1451
My journey into understanding human suffering began at the University of Glasgow (ranked among the top 3 in the UK for Psychology). There, I trained in the rigorous, evidence-based science of the human mind, later completing my Master's in Clinical Psychology and advanced training in Psychotherapy.
Yet, despite this rigorous training, I realized a profound truth: psychology alone is fundamentally incomplete. Cold scientific theories can only analyze and manage cognitive symptoms, but they cannot reach the deepest wounds. I discovered that you cannot truly heal the mind without first healing the soul.
Older, harsher, and far more mystically isolated than its Eastern counterpart. Accessible exclusively by boat and strictly requiring a special permit to enter, this peninsula is often harder to reach than the Himalayas.
With over 1,000 years of continuous, unbroken prayer, it answers to no single leader. There is no "Dalai Lama" here who can be politically compromised. It is governed solely by a democratic monastic committee, preserving an absolute, uncorrupted spiritual purity.
The turning point of my life did not happen in a lecture hall, but in the ancient, prayer-soaked quiet of Mount Athos. Reaching this isolated sanctuary demands genuine dedication, but it was there, across multiple pilgrimages, that I encountered a profound therapeutic wisdom nearly 2,000 years old. I had the immense blessing of learning from ascetic monks who almost never leave the mountain—most notably receiving spiritual guidance from Father Iulian of the Prodromu Hermitage, a revered elder of profound holiness.
"There, I learned that the Orthodox Church is not a courtroom of moral judgment, but a true hospital of souls. In this tradition, we never judge the person, we only treat the illness of the sin—wrapping the wounded human being in absolute, unconditional love."
Driven by this revelation, I became a student at the Faculty of Orthodox Theology—immersing myself in the exact same unbroken spiritual tradition lived by the monks of Mount Athos. I did not do this to become a dogmatic preacher, but precisely to integrate this ancient, therapeutic wisdom of the East with the clinical precision of the West. Only by uniting the two can we treat the human being in its absolute entirety.
Today, I offer a non-medicinal, spiritually integrated psychotherapy. Here, you do not need to hide your wounds, your doubts, or your history. In this virtual space, you are protected not only by the strict ethical codes of clinical psychology, but by the absolute silence of a spiritual tradition—a sacred seal for which, throughout the centuries, the Holy Fathers preferred to die rather than reveal a single word entrusted to them in confession.
A safe, confidential space for deep work
“The problem with today's world is that we have come to treat diseases of the soul with tools designed for physical accidents. We attempt to chemically anesthetize the existential void, the lack of meaning, the disconnection from nature and from God.
If the foundation of life were lived in that sacredness and simplicity, modern psychology would remain strictly what it was meant to be: a safety net for extreme situations, not daily life support for a chronically exhausted civilization.”
Modern life demands more than our nervous systems can handle. Using advanced clinical tools, we work to quiet the noise, regulate stress, and help you feel safe in your own skin again.
For those struggling with a lack of meaning, the pain of losing a loved one, silent anxiety, or deep social isolation. We gently unpack heavy burdens—no matter what form your suffering takes—and find your way back to the light.
Whether facing a crisis of identity, struggling with self-worth, or breaking free from destructive relational patterns, we build a foundation of safety where you can rediscover who you are.
In ancient spiritual traditions, what is spoken in pastoral care is bound by an absolute, unbreakable seal—just as a priest never, under any circumstance, reveals what is shared in confession. My online practice is built upon this exact standard of sacred honor.
I do not ask for your official documents, last name, or ID. You are free to use any first name, nickname, or pseudonym you feel comfortable with during our sessions.
To protect your privacy, your bank or credit card statement will show only ANDREI MARGINEAN. There will be absolutely no mention of "psychotherapy", "psychology", or "mental health" on your financial records.
If showing your face feels overwhelming at first, you are welcome to keep your camera off, use Zoom’s built-in 3D Avatars (which hide your real face while mimicking your expressions), or start with audio-only. You decide if, and when, you are ready to be seen.

“In psychology, this phenomenon is called the 'warm glow' of altruism—scientific research has proven that our brains release far more happiness hormones when we give than when we receive.”
“From a spiritual perspective, almsgiving—the giving of both hand and soul—is the only true wealth we send ahead of us into eternity.”
To honor the ancient spiritual tradition of Mount Athos, a portion of the funds generated from our online sessions supports both my clinical practice and community-driven initiatives that provide basic, real-world needs for vulnerable families and individuals year-round. This includes ensuring children have the supplies they need to stay in school, providing daily hot meals, medical support, or warm clothing for those who have lost everything.
Securely schedule a confidential, 50-minute online session. The system will automatically adapt to your local timezone.
For professionals with stable incomes. A significant portion of your contribution provides year-round support for vulnerable families—from daily hot meals, to winter clothing, to ensuring children have the supplies they need to stay in school.
Beyond our sessions, I warmly encourage you to practice quiet altruism in your own life, with those around you. You will soon discover a profound therapeutic truth: the joy of giving is far greater than the joy of receiving.
“Please know that your value as a human being has absolutely nothing to do with your financial resources. Money does not define your worth, nor does it measure the depth of your soul.
In the end, we take nothing with us from this world. True wealth is not found in what we accumulate, but in the quiet of our hearts. True happiness is, and will always be, the peace within your soul.
You are deeply valued, respected, and welcome here exactly as you are. Let us walk this path together, as equals.”
